                     Metalrax appoints new Chief Executive

Metalrax, the niche worldwide supplier of specialist steel products to the
automotive, engineering support services and housewares sectors, today announces
the recruitment of Andrew Richardson, 42, as Chief Executive. Andrew's joining
date will be announced in due course.

Andrew's recruitment follows the Group's announcement, at the time of the AGM in
May 2007, that Richard Arbuthnot plans to retire at the end of 2008 and that a
process in order to identify a successor had commenced. Having identified such a
strong candidate as Andrew, it has been agreed to accelerate this succession
planning.

Andrew is currently Divisional Chief Executive of the Water & Asset Monitoring
business of Halma plc, the leading safety, health and sensor technology group.
Within this role, Andrew is executive chairman of the boards of six autonomous
companies which are leaders in their specialised global markets. He also has
responsibility for acquisitions within his division.

Andrew has over 20 years of experience in international manufacturing and
automotive engineering, gained at Automotive Products Group Ltd, Webasto Roof
Systems, Mars Confectionery Ltd and Rover Group Ltd, where he has consistently
driven performance improvements through increased efficiency, restructuring and
strategic change.

Having accepted the offer to become Chief Executive of Metalrax, Andrew is
currently in the process of facilitating his full release from Halma plc. In
order to ensure an orderly transition of responsibilities, Richard has agreed to
remain as Chief Executive until such time as Andrew joins the Group and,
thereafter, to continue in a role which will make his valuable experience
available to the Group as appropriate.

John Crabtree, Chairman of Metalrax, commenting on the appointment said:
