Guangdong Development Fund Limited ("the Company") was notified on 4 August 2004
that, as a result of disposals of their holdings of shares in the Company on 15
June 2004, neither Elliott International L.P. (formerly known as Westgate
International L.P.) ("Elliott") nor The Liverpool Limited Partnership L.P. ("
Liverpool") retain notifiable interests in the ordinary shares of $0.01 each of
the Company.  The Company was also informed that the following related parties
and entities of Elliott and Liverpool also ceased to have any notifiable
interest in the share capital of the Company: Hambledon Inc., Paul E. Singer,
Liverpool Associates Ltd., Elliott Associates L.P., Elliott Capital Advisers
L.P. and Braxton Associates Inc.
