Andrews  Sykes announces that, in accordance with an ordinary resolution
passed at the last AGM, it yesterday purchased for cancellation 5,000 of
its  ordinary  shares at a price of 214 pence per ordinary  share.  This
brings the total purchases since 7 July 1998 to 10,000 shares.
