Volkswagen Sees Chip Shortage Continuing Throughout 2022, Automobilwoche Reports

--Volkswagen AG expects the semiconductor shortage to continue
this year, German trade publication Automobilwoche reports, citing
the German car maker's management board member responsible for its
purchasing division.
--The volatile chip situation is going to affect the auto maker
at least beyond the first six months of 2022, while the second half
of the year should have a slight improvement, Murat Aksel says in
an interview with Automobilwoche.
--It should be possible to make more reliable projections in
2023, when the capacities that semiconductor makers are building at
the moment reach the market, Automobilwoche quotes the board member
as saying.
