Rheinmetall AG said Tuesday that it has won an order for lightweight components worth close to 60 million euros ($71.5 million) through its joint venture with Huayu Automotive Systems Co. Ltd., or HASCO, a Chinese auto parts manufacturer.

The order is for structural components to be installed in vehicles for a premium German automaker, the German defense-and-automotive company said.

The contract will run for 8 years and delivery will begin in 2024, it said.
