Engie SA (ENGI.FR) subsidiary Engie Italia has signed a
power-purchase agreement with brick maker Wienerberger AG (WIE.VI)
for renewable energy, the companies said Thursday.
Under the agreement, Engie Italia will supply electricity for
Wienerberger's four brick-production plants in Italy.
The contract will last five years, with an applied price for the
full duration, the companies said.
The electricity supplied will be produced by photovoltaic farms
owned by Engie Italia.
"We are proud to be the first operator in Italy to have signed a
'Green PPA' contract that virtually connects our renewable
production plants to an end customer," said Olivier Jacquier, chief
executive of Engie Italia.
