Keweenaw Director David E. McDonald, Sr. Resigns from Board of Directors; Rick Weyerhaeuser Elected as His Successor

Keweenaw Land Association, Limited (KEWL) announced today that
Mr. David E. McDonald Sr. has resigned from the Board of Directors
due to health reasons. David Ayer, Chairman and CEO stated, “The
Company wishes to thank Dave for twenty-two years of distinguished
service and commitment to the Company and its shareholders. He
has brought excellent judgment and great insight to the Company
over his many years. He will be greatly missed; we all wish
him the best.”
The Board elected Mr. Frederick J. (Rick) Weyerhaeuser to join
the Board and complete the remaining two years of Mr. McDonald’s
Board term. The Company expects that Mr. Weyerhaeuser will stand
for re-election when his term expires.
Rick Weyerhaeuser brings to Keweenaw a wealth of business and
forestry experience. He is a graduate of Yale University (with a
major in geology and geophysics) and received a master’s degree
from the Yale School of Forestry, where he continues to serve on
The Leadership Council. He has served on many boards,
including The New England Forestry Foundation, Weeden and Company,
Rock Island Corporation, and the Forest History Society. He is a
founding member of the National Alliance of Forest Owners, the
national interest group for private landowners in the United States
and serves on their Executive Committee. He is a former State
Director of The Nature Conservancy in Massachusetts and currently
is a Director of the Lyme Timber Company, which specializes in the
acquisition and sale of forestland with significant conservation
values. Mr. Ayer added, “We are very pleased to have Rick
Weyerhaeuser on our Board. With his unique and diverse background
in forestry, we look forward to benefitting from his counsel, ideas
and perspectives.”
