German car maker Daimler AG said Wednesday that it is continuing short-time work for some of its staff in Germany until April 30.

The short-time work--reducing workers' hours while pay is partially covered by the government--will continue to affect employees working in the car maker's passenger cars, vans and commercial vehicle plants and administration.

Staff working in necessary functions and strategic projects continue to be excluded, while production in "some selected plants" will be gradually ramped up, it said.

Daimler had announced short-time work in March, saying it would initially run from April 6 until April 17.
