Continental AG's powertrain division Vitesco Technologies will
supply electric-heating elements to a major European van maker, the
German car-parts supplier said Thursday.
The deal marks the first high-volume order for this technology
and Vitesco Technologies will start production in late 2022. The
company said it is a multi-million euro contract.
Vitesco Technologies' electric-heating elements will be used in
two of the manufacturer's 48-volt hybrid van models to assist the
company in meeting the Euro-7 requirements, a CO2 emissions target
of 95 grams per kilometer, which will be implemented in 2020.
