                              Loan Note Repayment



Artisan (UK) plc is continuing to follow its strategy of divesting non-core
investments and concentrating on its core activity of property development. In
furtherance of this strategy Artisan (UK) plc announces that it currently
expects that a repayment in the order of #600,000 may be received shortly
against loan notes not due for repayment in the current year. The repayment is
not certain and principally in the control of others.
