Sasol Ltd. facilities in Louisiana and Texas remain closed
following Hurricane Laura, which caused electrical blackouts and
other damage to infrastructure near the Louisiana site, the company
said Monday.
Sasol's chemicals complex in Lake Charles, La., sustained damage
to cooling towers from high winds, the company said. According to
early reports, there was no apparent flooding damage or damage to
process equipment, Sasol added.
The company's sites in Greens Bayou and Winnie, Texas, were
closed as a precaution before the storm but were not damaged, Sasol
said.
Start-up of the plants will depend on the availability of
electricity, industrial gasses and other production inputs, the
company said.
