Amerisur Resources PLC (AMER.LN) said Tuesday that year-to-date production to the end of May averaged 5,300 barrels of oil a day and that it maintains its full-year production guidance.

The South America-focused oil-and-gas company said that guidance of 5,000 barrels of oil a day to 6,000 barrels of oil a day doesn't include any contribution from exploration drilling.

The company added that following the successful infill well at Platanillo, its current working interest production is over 6,800 barrels of oil a day.

Amerisur added that it has been granted exploration approval on the Putumayo region farm-out agreement with Occidental Andina LLC, an affiliate of Occidental Petroleum Corp. (OXY), by Colombia's Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos.

Shares at 0815 were up 0.32 pence, or 2.7%, at 12.18 pence.
