This May, Macy’s (NYSE:M) celebrates Asian Pacific American Heritage Month by showcasing ways Asian Pacific cultures and traditions continue and are honored through the use of comedy and humor. Celebrations at select Macy’s stores nationwide will focus on conversations surrounding the art of comedy in all of its forms including standup, comedic writing, sitcoms and cinematic representations of Asian Pacific Americans in today’s media and entertainment. Featured guests include internationally recognized actors, writers and comedians including Jimmy O. Yang (HBO’s “Silicon Valley” and “Crazy Rich Asians”), Ronny Chieng (Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” and “Crazy Rich Asians”), Joel Kim Booster (“Shrill,” “Big Mouth”) and Rizwan Manji (SyFy’s “The Magicians” and NBC’s “Outsourced”), as well as comedy group “Asian AF” and NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” writer Karen Chee.

Macy’s Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in-store celebrations will include comedy performances, meet and greet opportunities and moderated discussions with featured comedians on the importance of their heritage and its specific influence on their comedic careers in the entertainment industry. These stars and supporting actors of well-known comedies bring their humor in-store for special conversations on the impact their work has on the next generation and how their culture and traditions helped them get to where they are today.
