Plug Power Inc. said it signed a memorandum of understanding with Linde for the demonstration of Plug Power's ProGen fuel cell engine in Class 6 and Class 8 vehicles.

The vehicles will be used by Linde for delivery of products, Plug Power said. The company said the fleet of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles is expected to be on the road in early 2021, the provider of hydrogen engines and fueling solutions said.

Shares were up 1.5% to $12.26 premarket.

"Plug Power values our long-standing relationship with Linde, and views Linde as a key strategic supplier of hydrogen fuel," Plug Power CEO Andy Marsh said.

Plug Power said Thursday that Corine Dubruel joined the company as vice president and managing director, Europe. Before joining Plug Power, she held senior roles at electrification and energy companies including ENGIE, General Electric and ABB.

Plug Power Inc. also said it is working with Apex Clean Energy, a developer and operator of utility-scale wind and solar power facilities.

Apex and Plug Power's collaboration agreement aims to accelerate the shift to clean energy and mutually promote the advancement of green hydrogen in the U.S., Plug Power said.
