Electrify America on Wednesday said it would collaborate with nine additional companies to host more than 30 ultra-fast electric vehicle charging stations across the U.S.

The company's charging stations will be installed at a number of locations, including grocery chains Kroger (KR) and The Save Mart Cos. Electrify America said it is also working with Federal Realty Investment Trust (FRT), Fulcrum Property, ShopCore Properties, ValueRock Realty Partners, The Macerich Co. (MAC), Washington Prime Group (WPG) and Pan-Cal Corp.

More than 20 of the new charging sites will be located in California, with Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Virginia and Washington hosting the rest.

"Electrify America is excited to work with this diverse set of companies as we accelerate the pace of electric vehicle charging station installations across the country," said Rachel Moses, senior manager site acquisition and development at Electrify America.

The company intends to install or have under development 484 charging station sites by July. The company is investing $2 billion over 10 years in electric vehicle infrastructure and education.

Electrify America LLC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Volkswagen Group of America.
