EU Medicines Agency Calls for Warning on J&J Vaccine, But Says Benefits Outweigh Risks
By Eric Sylvers
The European Medicines Agency has said a warning should be added
to the product information of the Johnson & Johnson Covid-19
vaccine that unusual blood clots with low blood platelets is a very
rare possible side effect.
The agency said Tuesday that the overall benefits of the J&J
shot outweigh the possible side effects and that healthcare
professionals should be on the lookout for the combination of blood
clots and low platelet levels.
