Microsoft Corp. scored highest for social responsibility in the latest Management Top 250 ranking, followed by HP Inc., Intel Corp. and Cisco Systems Inc., in that order. All four companies also are among the top 10 companies overall in the ranking, with Microsoft No. 1.

The annual Management Top 250 ranking, developed by the Drucker Institute, measures corporate effectiveness by examining performance in five categories: customer satisfaction, employee engagement and development, innovation, social responsibility and financial strength.

Microsoft also made the top 10 for innovation and for employee engagement and development, and had the highest score for financial strength among the more than 800 companies studied by Drucker.

HP Inc. is ranked No. 10 overall. Intel, No. 7 overall, also made the top 10 for financial strength, and Cisco, No. 6 overall, also made the top 10 for financial strength and customer satisfaction.

Microsoft and Cisco also are among eight all-stars in the latest ranking -- companies that excelled in all five categories.

You can explore the full, detailed rankings here. In the coming weeks we'll take a look at the leaders in financial strength.
