Fiduciary Trust Company International, a global wealth manager
and wholly-owned subsidiary of Franklin Templeton, proudly
announces that Ellen Kratzer Rose, managing director, was named a
2020 Outstanding Sustainer by the New York Junior League. She and
other winners of this year’s Outstanding Sustainer and Outstanding
Volunteer Awards—the New York Junior League’s highest honor—were
recognized at the organization’s 68th annual Winter Ball on
February 29, 2020 at Chelsea Piers in New York City.
The New York Junior League is an organization dedicated to
promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and
improving communities through the effective action and leadership
of trained volunteers. The charitable and educational institution
seeks to provide all women, children, and families in the New York
City metropolitan area with equal opportunity, the resources to
unlock their potential, and the infrastructure to support them.
Since 1952, the Winter Ball has helped raise funds which make the
New York Junior League’s community programs possible. For more
information, please visit https://www.nyjl.org/.
“The League’s projects make a positive impact on the lives of so
many in our local communities, and I have been privileged to see
the results of its work first-hand as a longstanding volunteer,”
said Ms. Kratzer. “I am proud to contribute to the fulfillment of
the Junior League’s mission, and I am humbled to receive this
honor.”
Ms. Kratzer has previously served as president of the New York
Junior League as well as president of the Association of Junior
Leagues International, comprising 150,000 women volunteers across
291 Junior Leagues in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the U.K. She is
a former chair of the Council for Canadian-American Relations, and
of the U.S. board of the United Nations High Commissioner for
Refugees (UNHCR).
“Creating greater opportunities for the disadvantaged in the
communities where our clients and team members live is an important
element of our corporate culture,” said Paulina Mejia, regional
managing director, trust counsel, and head of Fiduciary Trust
Company International’s New York office. “Ellen personifies our
organization’s dedication to giving back, and we warmly
congratulate her on this accolade from the New York Junior
League.”
Ms. Kratzer is a well-respected thought leader in the field of
trusts and estates, having recently represented the U.S. at this
year’s STEP (Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners) Europe
conference, held February 20-21, 2020 in Vienna, Austria. She
serves Fiduciary Trust clients in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and
Asia, and was elected chair of STEP USA last year. Ms. Kratzer was
recognized as a “Woman of Influence” by the New York Business
Journal in 2018, and received the “Wall Street Women of Excellence
Award” from Traders Magazine in 2013.
