First American Financial Corporation (NYSE: FAF),
a leading global provider of title insurance, settlement services
and risk solutions for real estate transactions, announced today
that Fortune® and Great Place to Work® have recognized First
American as one of the 2019 Best Workplaces for Women, marking the
fourth consecutive year the company has earned a spot on the list.
The ranking is based on analysis of anonymous survey feedback
representing more than 4.6 million employees.
“Nearly 70 percent of our employees are women, so earning a spot
on the 2019 Best Workplaces for Women is particularly significant,”
said Dennis Gilmore, CEO, First American Financial Corporation.
“The recognition reflects the integrity, commitment and teamwork
our people demonstrate every day as they work together and serve
our customers. We emphasize putting people first and, in turn, our
people have helped First American earn its reputation for
leadership and innovation in the title insurance and settlement
services industry.”
The 2019 Best Workplaces for Women measured what women
themselves report in a 60-question anonymous survey about their
workplace, and how fairly those experiences compare to what men
report about the same workplaces. The survey analyzes the extent to
which women report their organizations create a great workplace,
including whether people trust each other and whether employees can
reach their full potential, no matter who they are or what they
do.
“These winning companies are thriving because women have an
equal seat at every table where critical decisions are made,” said
Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work. “Organizations like
First American know that creating a great workplace where everyone
can succeed regardless of gender is not just the right thing to do,
but a must-do if you want to be the very best of everything in the
marketplace.”
Earlier in 2019, also for the fourth straight year, First
American was named to the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For®
list, and was named one of the Best Workplaces in Financial
Services and Insurance for the third year in a row.
The company’s Canadian subsidiary, FCT, has been named by Great
Place to Work® to the “Best Workplaces™ in Canada – 1000+
Employees” list for five consecutive years (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018
and 2019), and a 2018 Best Workplace in Canada for Millennials, as
well as one of the Best Workplaces in Financial Services &
Insurance.
The Best Workplaces for Women is one of a series of rankings by
Great Place to Work® and Fortune® based on employee feedback. To
