Chevron U.S.A. Inc. on Monday said its Chevron New Energies division would work with a subsidiary of Enterprise Products Partners L.P. to look at opportunities for carbon dioxide capture, utilization and storage.

The companies said they would study and evaluate opportunities from business operations in the U.S. Midcontinent and Gulf Coast, adding the initial phase of the study will last about six months.

The companies said "projects resulting from the evaluation would seek to combine Enterprise's extensive midstream pipeline and storage network with Chevron's sub-surface expertise to create opportunities to capture, aggregate, transport and sequester carbon dioxide in support of the evolving energy landscape."
