Chevron Reports Operational Snag at Richmond, Calif., Refinery

Chevron Corp. (CVX) reported an operational disruption and gas
emissions Wednesday night at its Richmond refinery in northern
California.
In a statement to the California Emergency Management Agency,
the refinery said an "upset" in the operational process resulted in
the release of sulfur dioxide to the atmosphere. The emissions have
since stopped, it added.
The 250,000-barrel-a-day refinery is located just north of
Oakland.
