ADRs End Higher, AstraZeneca and Carnival Trade Actively

International stocks trading in New York closed higher on
Wednesday.
The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts
ticked up 1.5% to 142.96. The European index edged 1.6% higher to
138.82. The Asian index climbed 1.3% to 164.88. The Latin American
index rose 1.2% to 181.30, while the emerging-markets index gained
1.6% to 276.38.
AstraZeneca PLC was among those whose ADRs traded actively.
The pharmaceutical company edged up 0.3% after it said imfinzi
has been approved in the European Union for biliary tract cancer,
while lynparza in combination with abiraterone and prednisone or
prednisolone has been approved in the EU for prostate cancer.
Carnival PLC gained 4.4% after it narrowed its loss in the
fourth quarter and said it saw bookings accelerate after it further
relaxed Covid-19 protocols early in the quarter with momentum
ongoing into December.
