Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA (BBVA.MC) said Wednesday that it will sell a written-off portfolio worth a gross total of 2.5 billion euros ($2.8 billion) to Intrum AB (INTRUM.SK).

The Spanish bank said the sale is the latest in a series of loan portfolio sales--mostly real-estate and mortgage portfolios--completed over the last two years.
