Prudential PLC (PRU.LN) said Thursday that it has appointed Shriti Vadera as chairwoman, succeeding Paul Manduca.

Ms. Vadera, current chairwoman of Santander U.K. Group, will join the board on Jan. 1, 2021.

Mr. Manduca joined Prudential's board in 2010 and became chairman in 2012, the company said.

Shares at 0838 GMT were down 20.00 pence, or 1.4%, at 1,372.00 pence.
