Total SA said Thursday that it has made a second discovery along
with Apache Corp. at Block 58 in offshore Suriname, South
America.
The French energy major said the Sapakara West-1 well
encountered "79 meters net pay of volatile oil and condensate" and
that further testing will be performed to assess the reservoir's
resources and productivity.
This follows a previous discovery at Maka Central-1, the company
added.
Under the terms of the joint venture agreement between the two
companies, Apache will operate the first three exploration wells in
Block 58 and subsequently transfer the operatorship to Total.
