International stocks trading in New York closed mostly higher on Thursday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts ticked up 0.1% to 140.29. The European index slipped 0.2% to 131.58. The Asian index moved up 0.3% to 170.61. The Latin American index advanced 2.3% to 182.51, while the emerging-markets index rose 0.6% to 287.68.

Anheuser-Busch InBev NV was among those whose ADRs traded actively.

The brewer slipped 5.1% after reporting weaker sales to both retailers and wholesalers in the U.S., its largest market, but revenue growth of 2.7% in the country amid higher selling prices.

Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. slid 2.2% after The Wall Street Journal reported that billionaire Jack Ma plans to relinquish control of Ant Group Co., part of the fintech giant's effort to move away from affiliate Alibaba after more than a year of extraordinary pressure from Chinese regulators.
