Item 8.01 Other Events.

On October 6, 2021, Viracta Therapeutics, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing the initiation of the Company’s multinational Phase 1b/2 trial in patients with Epstein-Barr Virus-Positive (“EBV+”) recurrent or metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma and other EBV+ solid tumors.

The press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
