Israel, September 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Scopus Video Networks
(NASDAQ:SCOP), a provider of digital video networking solutions,
will introduce its new network management system (NMS) Eldorado at
IBC2008 in Amsterdam. Eldorado's open, scalable architecture
enables smooth and easy technology migration and integration of new
services and third-party devices, and can be fully customized to
manage resources across networks. "Eldorado is a direct response to
the challenges direct-to-home operators, such as cable, satellite,
terrestrial, and IPTV, as well as broadcasters and content
providers face in today's increasingly complex and competitive
environments," said Alon Avramson, director of NMS at Scopus Video
Networks. "These operators need a network management solution that
can keep pace with rapidly developing digital video technologies as
service offerings and the customer base grow. Eldorado uniquely
addresses these requirements as a robust, flexible NMS that scales
easily from small operations to large, distributed environments
while enabling multi-user operation." The system provides full
support and compatibility for IP and ASI routing for headend and
converged infrastructures. Additionally, Eldorado provides a
variety of wizard-based redundancy schemes, including 1:1, N:1, N:M
product levels; signal paths; and a unique recovery solution for
reception loss. Eldorado's graphical user interface features a
dashboard providing at-a-glance views of consolidated network
status and enables drag-and-drop operations and on-screen setup for
both online and offline operations. At IBC2008, Eldorado will be
the centerpiece of Scopus' flexible headend concept, based on both
IP and ASI interfaces, providing full variable content processing,
management, and redundancy. This concept ensures minimal
operational downtime, reduces expenses, and enables delivery of new
services. Another enhancement to Scopus' headend solutions is the
company's new H.264 HD/SD statistical multiplexing system,
addressing direct-to-home services and content distribution. This
system leverages H.264 DVB-S2 technologies to deliver considerable
bandwidth savings to cable, satellite, IPTV, and terrestrial
facilities, as compared to MPEG-2 DVB-S-based systems. About Scopus
