Microsoft Cuts Jobs as It Realigns Businesses -Bloomberg

--Microsoft Corp. cut some of its workforce on Monday in a
business realignment after the close of its fiscal year on June 30,
Bloomberg reported.
--The software giant said it plans to keep hiring for other
roles and finish the current fiscal year with an increased
headcount, the report said.
--The layoffs, which affected less than 1% of its workforce,
spanned across groups ranging from consulting and customer and
partner solutions and were dispersed across geographies, Bloomberg
reported.
--Microsoft said the layoffs were not spurred by the worsening
economic picture, the report said.
