STOCKHOLM--Ericsson AB (ERIC) and Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) are
integrating their connected vehicle platforms to allow auto makers
to accelerate the delivery of new connected car services
world-wide, the companies said in a joint statement Thursday.
The companies said the integrated solution allows auto makers to
deploy and scale global vehicle services such as fleet management,
over-the-air software updates and connected safety services.
"Together with Ericsson, we intend to simplify the development
of connected vehicle services to help car makers focus on their
customers needs and accelerate the delivery of unique, tailor-made
driving experiences," Peggy Johnson, executive vice president,
business development at Microsoft said.
