February 07 2019 - 8:00AM
Marquis Industries, a subsidiary of Live Ventures Incorporated, a
publicly traded diversified holding company (NASDAQ: LIVE), is
pleased to announce a $10,000 donation to the American Heart
Association. This is the tenth consecutive year of donations from
Marquis Industries to the American Heart Association. As heart
disease remains the leading cause of death in the U.S., these funds
will help support lifesaving research and advocate for better
health.
Some specific programs supported by these funds include:
- Meritorious research at the forefront of heart disease and
stroke prevention
- Public education on heart disease and stroke
- CPR kit placements and education
- Get within the guidelines standards/programming in local
hospitals
“It’s amazing how many lives have been saved with CPR training
and AED placement that would not be possible without the work of
the AHA. We recognize that every dollar donated goes toward helping
the fight against our nation's No. 1 & No. 5 killers (heart
disease and stroke),” said Wes Godfrey, Chief Executive Officer,
Marquis Industries Inc. Godfrey went on to highlight his
appreciation of the AHA’s dedication and contributions. “In
tradition of our values at Marquis Industries, we are pleased to be
a continued supporter and greatly admire the American Heart
Association commitment to research and patient support.”
“We are proud and delighted to have Marquis collaborate with us
as we work to promote a healthier lifestyle in the Dalton
community. Their annual support is a catalyst for us to reach our
impact goals,” said Jake Johnson, Regional Director
Chattanooga-American Heart Association.
