--Vodafone Group's acquisition of Liberty Global PLC's assets in Germany, Hungary, Romania and the Czech Republic will likely face an in-depth EU antitrust investigation, Reuters reports, citing an unnamed source.

--A full probe would mean the EU rejects a request by the German cartel authority to look into the deal, which has been criticized by Deutsche Telekom AG and Telefonica Deutschland AG among others, Reuters says.

--A preliminary review on the deal by the European Commission--which handles EU competition reviews--is due by Dec. 11, according to Reuters.
