--Permira, a British private-equity firm, and Carsales.com are angling for a $10 billion joint acquisition of eBay's classified-advertising business, Sky News reported.

--EBay said last month it was considering a sale of the classified-ads division.

--Axel Springer, Naspers and Autoscout are among the other companies that reportedly have approached eBay with bids.
