eBay Inc. (EBAY) shares were up 10% to $37.81 in afternoon trading, while shares of Intercontinental Exchange Inc. (ICE) turned lower.

Intercontinental Exchange was down 3% to $97.33 after trading higher earlier in the session.

The Wall Street Journal reported that New York Stock Exchange owner Intercontinental Exchange has made a takeover offer for eBay that could value the online marketplace at more than $30 billion, citing people familiar with the matter.
