EBay Inc. (EBAY) Chief Executive Devin Wenig got a 3% raise in
2018, bringing his total compensation package to about $18.2
million.
Mr. Wenig's salary remained unchanged from a year earlier, at $1
million. The company boosted his equity awards 11% from a year ago,
to $15.5 million. In its proxy, the company said it took into
account Mr. Wenig's leadership, focus on executing the company's
strategy, creating a culture of diversity and inclusion and
delivering innovative products.
The online marketplace lowered the pay of some of its other
named executives, according to the filing. EBay lowered the pay of
its chief technology officer by 9% and the general manager of its
eBay markets division by 29%.
In recent years, eBay shares have languished as the company has
sought to distance itself from its reputation as an online auction
house and has battled the likes of Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) in the
e-commerce arena. EBay's shares fell by about 26% in 2018.
