Shares of Autodesk, Inc. were higher in Wednesday's late trading session after the company reported its second-quarter financial results and gave third-quarter guidance.

At 4:25 p.m. EDT, the company's shares were trading 6.44% higher at $228.23 per share. The stock finished the day's regular session with a 0.37% gain at $214.43.

Year to date, the stock is down about 23%.

After the bell, Autodesk reported second-quarter earnings per share of 85 cents on revenue of $1.24 billion. In the year-ago period, the company reported EPS of 52 cents on revenue of $1.06 billion. Previously, the company said it was expecting second-quarter EPS in a range of 72 cents and 78 cents and revenue in a range between $1.22 billion and $1.24 billion.

The software company said it was expecting fiscal year 2023 revenue to increase by 14% to 15%, and anticipated billings of $5.71 billion to $5.81 billion. For fiscal year 2023, the company said it expected adjusted EPS of $6.52 to $6.71.
