Apple Inc. (AAPL) on Thursday announced the company will hold its Worldwide Developers Conference in San Jose, Calif., on June 3 through June 7 this year.

"WWDC is Apple's biggest event of the year. It brings thousands of the most creative and dedicated developers from around the world together with over a thousand Apple engineers to learn about our latest platform innovations and to connect as a community," said Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing.

Developers can apply for tickets, which are issued randomly, until 5 p.m PDT on March 20 through the company's WWDC website, Apple said. In addition, the company said, WWDC scholarships are available for student developers, with details on how to apply available on the WWDC website.
