On March 18, 2019, Anavex Life Sciences Corp. (the “Company”) filed a prospectus supplement (the “Prospectus Supplement”) to its effective registration statement on Form S-3 (File No. 333-207600) registering shares of the Company’s common stock, $0.001 par value per share, issuable pursuant to its purchase agreement with Lincoln Park Capital Fund, LLC. This Current Report on Form 8-K is being filed solely to include the opinion of counsel attached hereto as Exhibit 5.1 with respect to the legality of the shares issuable pursuant to the Prospectus Supplement.
