American Airlines Group Inc. (AAL) has delayed the return of service of its Boeing 737 MAX fleet again.

The company said it has cancelled flights through April 6, "assuming that our 737 MAX 8 aircraft will not be available through that date."

The company previously cancelled MAX flights through March 4, citing continuing uncertainty regarding the timing of the aircraft's return to service.

American Airlines has 24 Boeing MAX 8 aircraft and an additional 76 aircraft on order from Boeing, the company said in filings.

The Federal Aviation Administration ordered the MAX aircraft grounded on March 13 of this year, three days after Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 crashed.
