Other Events

 

Acorda Therapeutics, Inc. (the “Company”) is reporting that on July 13, 2020, it received a U.S. income tax refund from the Internal Revenue Service of approximately $12.7 million, including interest, pursuant to the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (“CARES Act”). Under the CARES Act, among other things, net operating losses arising in a taxable year beginning after December 31, 2017, and before January 1, 2021, can be carried back to the preceding five years to apply against taxable income reported in such years. Pursuant to this provision of the CARES Act, the Company was eligible to carry back 2019 net operating losses to tax years 2017 and 2018, resulting in the refund.
