Brazilian airline Azul SA (AZUL) said Tuesday it took delivery of an Airbus SE (EADSY) A321neo, the first of that model delivered in Brazil.

Azul said the delivery was the first of 13 it has ordered. Azul will use the A321neo to fly its high-density domestic routes. The aircraft "will allow the company to simultaneously grow its high-density domestic routes and reduce seat-cost."

"The A321neo is an important milestone for Azul once it will allow the company to simultaneously grow its route network and become more efficient," said Chief Executive John Rodgerson.
