Air Liquide SA said Tuesday that it has signed an agreement with Steel Dynamics Inc. to supply gaseous oxygen, nitrogen, and argon to the American company's steel mill in Texas.

The French chemical company said it will invest more than $100 million to install an air separation unit on its Gulf Cost pipeline network in Ingleside, Texas and extend the network to Steel Dynamics's site in Sinton, Texas.

The air separation unit will be able to produce over 770 tons of oxygen per day.

The Steel Dynamics steel mill is slated to begin operations in 2021.
