Greece issued 2.5 billion euros ($2.71 billion) in new June 2028-dated government bonds via a bank syndicate on Wednesday, one of the lead manager banks said.

Orderbooks for the new five-year bond closed in excess of EUR19.1 billion, the same bank said. The books included EUR730 million in joint lead manager interest, slightly lower than indicated during the bookbuilding process.

The spread on the bond was set 90 basis points above mid-swaps, the same bank said.

This was Greece's second syndicated bond transaction this year after an EUR3.5 billion issue of 10-year bonds in January.

Joint lead managers of the issue were BNP Paribas, Citi, Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, Nomura and Piraeus Bank.
