Officers Successfully Deploy BolaWrap to Help Restrain Subject Having a Mental Health Crisis in LaGrange, Georgia
September 20 2022 - 4:05PM
Wrap Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: WRAP) (the
“Company”), a global leader in innovative public safety
technologies and services, today shared new agency body cam footage
provided by the LaGrange Police Department demonstrating a
successful outcome from the deployment of the BolaWrap® Remote
Restraint device.
On September 16, 2022, officers of the LaGrange Police
Department in Georgia responded to a call of a subject at a
facility for a mental health evaluation. The subject was refusing
to be transported to another facility. At this point the subject
made statements to officers on-scene that he would fight them and
the county when they arrived. As the subject took a few steps
toward one officer, another officer deployed the BolaWrap to the
subject’s upper thigh area, resulting in an immediate improved
response from the subject. The subject was startled by the
deployment, allowing officers to take the subject safely into
custody. The subject was then transported to another facility
without further incident.
“The use of the BolaWrap resulted in our officers being able to
take this subject into custody without injury enabling the officers
to secure him quickly in handcuffs without escalation of force,”
said Lieutenant Eric Lohr of the LaGrange Police Department in
Georgia.
