Volvo AB said Friday that Deputy Chief Executive Jan Gurander is stepping down at the end of the year after eight years with the company.

The Swedish truck maker said that Mr. Gurander's managerial assignments will be distributed among members of the executive board.

Mr. Gurander joined the company as group financial officer in 2014 and was appointed deputy CEO in 2016.

"Jan has been one of the key drivers to the positive growth and profitability development of the group, as well as the strengthening of our financial position," President and Chief Executive Martin Lundstedt said.
