Greencoat Renewables PLC said Tuesday that it has signed a deal to buy a 65-megawatt portfolio of operating wind farms located in France from Axpo Holding AG, its second portfolio acquisition in the country.

The London-listed renewable-infrastructure company said the acquisition comprises four wind farms, which are linked to France's government through long-term contracts.

France will now represent 12% of the company's portfolio, it said.

"This transaction represents a further milestone in Greencoat Renewables' strategy to increase our position in the French renewables market, which provides an opportunity to secure long-term contracted renewable energy assets," Greencoat Renewables investment manager Bertrand Gautier said.
