--BP has hired Matthias Bausenwein, an executive from Danish wind power company Orsted A/S, to head its new offshore-wind division, Reuters reports.

--According to Reuters, the move is a sign of how big oil-and-gas companies are going head-to-head with established renewable-energy companies.
