U.S. ethanol inventories climbed this week but daily production fell, with both at the high end of analyst expectations.

In its latest weekly report, the EIA said that U.S. ethanol inventories for the week ended Nov. 26 totaled 20.3 million barrels, up over 135,000 barrels from the previous week. Analysts surveyed by Dow Jones this week had forecast stocks to total anywhere from 20.1 million barrels to 20.36 million barrels.

Daily production fell back for the week - with production down 44,000 barrels per day to 1.04 million barrels per day this week. The total falls on the low end of analyst forecasts, with expectations being anywhere from 1.04 million barrels to 1.09 million barrels per day.

Corn futures trading on the Chicago Board of Trade have been down recently, partially due to weakness in crude oil futures. The most-active corn contract is up Wednesday, however, trading 0.5% higher to just over $5.70 a bushel.
