Costco Wholesale Corp. reported an almost 17% increase in its net sales for the July retail month.

The retailer reported that net sales for the four weeks ended Aug. 1 were $15.21 billion, up from $13.04 billion a year earlier, or rising 16.6%.

Costco said comparable sales rose 13.8% during the four-week timeline. They increased the most in Canada, rising 16.5%, followed by other international, where they rose 14.4%. The U.S. saw the least amount of growth at 13.1%. Comparable e-commerce sales rose 7.4%, the company reported.

Not including the impacts from gas price changes or from foreign exchange, comparable sales at Costco rose 8%. That measure of comparable sales rose the most in the U.S. rising 8.5%, followed by other international where they rose 7.8%. Growth in that measurement was the smallest in Canada where those sales rose 5.5%. Meanwhile, e-commerce sales excluding the above impacts rose 5.7%.
