BAE Systems Inc. on Wednesday said it will provide "critical sustainment support" for electronic countermeasure systems on the F-35 fighter aircraft under a $93 million, five-year undefinitized contract action from Lockheed Martin.

The contract will see BAE provide software maintenance, depot test equipment support, technical field support and other services for the F-35 U.S. Reprogramming Laboratory, the company said.

Rob Dykema, F-35 Sustainment program director at BAE Systems, said, "This contract lays critical sustainment groundwork, establishing and optimizing the infrastructure to support the aircraft."
